Sports Job Interview with Nike’s Digital Sport Experience Manager – Matt Mahar

Meet Matt Mahar.  Matt is the Digital Sport Experience Manager with Nike.

I caught up with Matt at the Mixx Canada Roadshow in Vancouver where he was the Feature Speaker talking about “Is Nike A Technology Startup?: The Emergence Of Product As A Media Platform”.

Specifically, he spoke about the development and marketing thinking behind Nike Fuel and how Nike executes an integrated consumer centric experience into its products and marketing.

Matt has a very unique position with Nike in that he is in charge of the digital experience for Nike+ Basketball consumers.  He interacts with a number of departments within Nike in his role including digital, marketing, branding, retail and sales.

During this interview with Matt, we discussed:

  • How he progressed from being a “video game tester” to now his current role as Digital Sport Experience Manager
  • The unique aspects of his role with Nike that have him interacting with multiple departments within Nike
  • Advice that he would give to others that aspire to follow in his footsteps and land a job with Nike.

Definitely consider that that you stated. Your favourite justification appeared to be at the net the simplest factor to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked whilst folks think about worries that they just don’t realize about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thanks

I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and entertaining,
and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head.
The issue is something not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I stumbled across this in my search for something concerning this.

After I originally commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when
new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is
added I recieve four emails with the exact same comment.

Is there a way you can remove me from that service?
    Thanks!
