Top Sporting Events You Do Not Want To Miss In 2016

2016 will showcase a range of highly anticipated sporting events all around the world. We’re sure you’d like to plan around these events, and as far in advance as possible. From cycling to the Olympics, it’s going to be an action-packed year in the sports industry.

The Most Anticipated Sporting Events in 2016

That said, it’s expected that all these anticipated sports events are likely to generate a nice little stream of revenue for the tourism and travel industry, including the private aviation market. Air Charter Service, a leading aircraft specialist, recently reported that they were expecting some events more than others to be profitable to their operations.

2016 Olympics And Paralympics

sporting events

The Olympics will start on August 5 and the Paralympics will start September 7. Hosted every four years, the Olympic games always bring sports lovers and tourists from around the world. This year will be no different — and with the Olympics hosted in Rio De Janeiro it’s bound to be both a feast for the eyes and many a sports lover’s dreams come true.

Group charter flights should be available for both sports teams and spectators from around the world. If you have the cash, you might as well splurge and arrange for a group charter jet as this is one of the sporting events that would justify the expense.

The Olympic games usually showcase everything from swimming to sailing, to gymnastics, to equestrian events and much more. Feel free to stay up to date with what’s on the agenda by checking out the official Olympic games site.

UEFA Euro 2016

The second most important sporting event of 2016 is likely to be the UEFA Euro 2016, which will showcase the best European soccer national teams starting June 10. There are around 800,000 seats available for matches and prices vary based on the phase of the tournament.

The expectation is that the European Football championships will send the most traffic to the travel account managers’ doors. Tickets are likely to sell like hot cakes, and it’s best you get your transportation and accommodation sorted out as soon as possible.

Cricket Summer Series

Cricket fans around the world are getting ready for the summer series, starting on the 19th of May. Some of the most sought after games are likely to include the Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and England cricket teams.

If you’re planning on making an appearance and seeing one or two of the games, it’s anticipated that there are still quite a few tickets available. However, it’s best to ensure that you get your tickets now, if you haven’t as yet, as May is upon us. If you’re flying out for the series, you should have your travel and accommodation booked at this point.

Tour De France

The most important cycling event of 2016, the Tour De France, starts on July 2. This year’s event will have cycling fans glued to the race as there are just 7 cyclists that ever managed to win this event 3 or more times. Chris Froome is gunning to be the eighth — whether or not this will happen remains to be seen.

If you want to have the best possible experience you should consider the Chamonix region as it features the last of the Alps, and the region also happens to be in a location that is perfect to stay with friends.

If you’re not making your way your Monaco for the Formula One Grand Prix, but love motorsports, then the 18th of June needs to be on your calendar. Formula One is loved all around the world, but Le Mans is a special sports event that is totally different. There is no other motor race out there of this scale, as there will be close to 300,000 fans attending (most in camping areas). If you’ve always wanted to attend, but never had the chance to, then 2016 should be a great year to make your attendance a reality.

We’ve just touched on some of the highlights in our sports calendar for 2016, but there’s much more to be seen. Stay tuned to the Air Charter Service USA blog for their up-and-coming 2016 sports calendar and get the full report. What’s more, if you’re travelling in a group to one of these sporting events, make a group charter booking with Air Charter Service and enjoy your favorite sports with your friends and family.
