The vision that NASCAR and Sprint had when they partnered almost 10 years ago of using sports technology to bring fans closer to the sport is coming to fruition.

For the first exhibition race of the season — the Sprint Unlimited scheduled for Feb. 16 at Daytona International Speedway — fans will have the opportunity to determine how several elements of the race will look like.

Fans can now vote through the NASCAR Mobile ’13 app for Android and iOS or here.

Fans are able to choose the race’s format, the number of pit stops drivers are allowed, and the outfit worn by Miss Sprint Cup for NASCAR’s post-race show. Fascinating, eh?

And remember, voting through the mobile app will have twice as much value, so get on those smartphones.
