Gongshow Gear, Inc. is a Canadian Lifestyle Hockey Apparel company which has cemented itself as one of the leaders in outfitting hockey players across North America.
With a core demographic of 12 to 30 years, Gongshow wanted to further its decade-old brand by stepping into the sports technology arena and creating a mobile app that could live on its customers’ mobile devices.
Thus, Saucer King was born, an innovative 3D game that has players in virtual environments shooting pucks over various obstacles.
The objective of the game is to get the puck in the net, gain points, and advance to the next level. Saucer King offers realistic puck movement and stick handling controls so it’ll feel as if you’re playing at your favorite rink.
It’s been roughly a week since Saucer King’s official launch, but the app is already the top free iPhone game app in Canada; it’s also free to download on the App Store at Apple.
Currently, Saucer King is only available for the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch, but the company is working towards making it available for Android users in the coming weeks.

Comments About Saucer King From Gongshow Gear’s Front Office
“We knew that we had to develop an app that met three key criteria: it had to generate high quality original content for our customers, it had to unite hockey players from around the world and help grow the sport, and finally it needed to help grow our brand, ” said Ger McNamee, President at Gongshow. “A mobile app game for the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch was the perfect solution.”
“We take pride at Gongshow in being innovative and cutting edge in everything we do, so we are obviously extremely excited to be the first hockey brand on the market to create a mobile app game to unite hockey players, provide value to our fans, and grow our business,” said Tu Nguyen, Vice President of Information Technology at Gongshow. “Stay tuned for more apps to come from our new Mobile division that we just opened here at Gongshow.”
