Although, I am not particularly a fan of the idea of the Falcons getting a new stadium…it will be interesting to see what the final deal is and how the new stadium works out for the city. As a current resident of Atlanta, I do like the fact that the public cost is more spread out and the hotel tax pays for a large portion of the continued cost. Atlanta is a very tourist friendly, and with a influx of Sporting Events in the last 20 years (Final Fours, Olympics, All Star Weekends etc.) So having a new stadium could attract more events to Atlanta, and then the mass amounts of guest to the area hotels would then pay for the new stadium’s upkeep.
The one thing that most excites me is to see if the new stadium will allow Atlanta to get an MLS team, that would be an added incentive to build since Atlanta no longer has an active hockey franchise.
