Blinkx and EpicTVSearch engines are the backbone of the internet.  For instance, Google works by sending out “spiders” to scour the web and collect and organize content.

Just the same, Blinkx is a video search engine, which allows users to quickly search the web for videos and find results.  It utilizes its patented Concept Recognition Engine (CORE) technology that leverages speech, text and image analysis to deeply understand the content and context of videos.

From a marketing perspective, blinkx is an Internet media platform that connects digital consumers with advertisers through professionally generated content.  In a recent partnership with EpicTV.com, the two companies are looking to provide extreme sports enthusiasts with unique videos of the most adventurous athletes in the world.

EpicTV.com is a website that offers extreme sports fans an up-close look at the world of action sports.  This is done by utilizing independent filmmakers to produce unique content of sports such as skiing, snowboarding, mountain climbing, wing-suit flying, surfing, mountain biking, base jumping and more.

Dan Slivjanovski, SVP, Chief Marketing Officer of blinkx, explains how sports and blinkx mesh well together:

Blinkx has signed more than 900 partners and indexed over 35 million hours of video and audio content to date.  The video search engine will utilize its AdHoc platform to pair relevant advertising with appropriate videos.  Panu Lehti, head of EpicTV.com, explained:

With both companies working together, the tandem should be able to provide viewers with relevant ads.  Reaching out to extreme sports enthusiasts is great, and the provided ads are targeted for the unique audience.
