Yesterday, we were joined by Kirk Lacob, Assistant General Manager of the Golden State Warriors.

Who is Kirk Lacob?

Kirk graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Science, Technology and Society with a focus in Management Science and Engineering. He began his career in the NBA as an Intern for the Boston Celtics working in Community Relations, Media Relations, and Public Relations.

For the past few years he has worked in the front office for the Golden State Warriors, originally as Director of Basketball Operations and currently Assistant General Manager. In addition, he serves as the General Manager of the Santa Cruz Warriors (The D-League franchise owned by the Golden State Warriors).

Connect with Kirk on LinkedIn and Twitter as well as to find out more about him.

During the live Q&A, we talked with Kirk about:

  • How and why he decided to pursue a career in the sports industry
  • Why he wanted to work in the front office on an NBA Team
  • What he does on a daily basis in his role as Assistant GM
  • Whether his chosen career path was what he expected (both good and bad).
  • Advices he’d give to others looking to land their dream job in sports.

Kirk Lacob Discusses What It Takes To Make It In Sports

One of the questions we ask all of our LIVE Q&A guests is to provide one piece of advice to our members that will help them land their dream job in sports.
