6 NFL Teams To Follow On Google+

FaceBook may be the social media giant, but Google Plus is certainly making grounds. Nearly every NFL franchise has an official account with six teams going above the rest in their connectivity to their fans.

These teams highlighted below are the ones that go above and beyond, and have over 100,000 +1s. With the median number at just under 3,200 +1s, the staggering numbers you’re about to read are just that – staggering.

Here are the 6 NFL Teams To Follow On Google+

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

636,155 Plus One
62,054 Circles

The Steelers are one of the most active fan pages on Google+. They can post up to 10 times on a given day, and some times more often. Fans can get a glimpse of current players and former gridiron greats.

2. New England Patriots

585,896 Plus One
 583,833 Circles

The Patriots take multimedia to another level with audio bites and video archives of players and coaches. Fans can find everything they want and more on their official page.

3. Washington Redskins

283,395 Plus One
282,864 Circles

The Redskins dip a bit behind the prowess of the Steelers and Patriots, with around half the number of +1s. Washington is all over social media, with big followings on Twitter and FaceBook as well.

4. Dallas Cowboys

 127,466 Plus One
125,530 Circles

The Cowboys, also, take a big dip behind the Redskins. They post quite less frequently, as their last post was in July. But when they do post, it’s worth it. Not many teams post memes.

5. Indianapolis Colts

103,926 Plus One
103,700 Circles

The Colts are even less active than the Cowboys, but they give out high-quality content when they do post. Included are Google Hangouts (similar to skype) where fans can interact.

6. Philadelphia Eagles

102,376 Plus One
101,073 Circles

And last, but not least, we have the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have fun with their account by mentioning the team version of Angry Birds. They keep their information up-to-date and relevant.

@matthewcerrone I don’t know anybody but my Brother and Dad who uses Google+.

@matthewcerrone @sportsnetworker Here all the time. Go Steelers and Mets. Reader of Metsblog and Twitter follower.

@matthewcerrone Despite stories about athletes and teams that do great things on Google+, participation is still lacking. SM overload?

  4. matthewcerrone September 10, 2012 at 12:17 pm #

    @StephenApp it’s hard to remake people’s habits.

@matthewcerrone I wanted G+ to use it but given limited time it’s just way more important to update the Facebook page than G

@matthewcerrone i use Google + often, i def enjoy the GUI better than FB, but i mostly use it for sports and news info, not social friends

  7. StephenApp September 10, 2012 at 1:01 pm #

@matthewcerrone Don’t think it’s that. Other SM networks (Instagram/Pinterest) have successfully integrated social landscape. G+ has no USP

    @matthewcerrone Just me. *crickets*

@StephenApp IG is SO niche and Pinterest provides a service (collating your Internet). G+ wants u to use instead of other things.

  10. StephenApp September 10, 2012 at 5:17 pm #

@matthewcerrone true, but those are traits they can sell to users. G+ is lacking a unique trait or feature (aside from hangouts.)

I’m not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your blogs really nice,
keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back down the road.
    Cheers

Asking questions are genuinely pleasant thing
if you are not understanding something totally, but this paragraph offers good understanding yet.
