Sports Ticket Sales: Red Sox in the Dumps

sports ticket salesThe Boston Red Sox are an incredible franchise with a rich history.

They have been one of the dominant Major League Baseball franchises over the last decade when it comes to sports ticket sales.

Selling out games was easy for the team, but their sell-out streak of close to ten years will likely end this April when sports ticket sales are expected to decline.

The Sox had a devastating finish two seasons ago and followed it up with a putrid Bobby Valentine run clown show last year, which ended in his dismissal and the trade of Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Josh Beckett to the Dodgers.

All of these things combined could be reason for the the drop in sports ticket sales and the team is looking into new ways of keeping their fans coming to the ballpark – winning would probably be the best option – which includes: discounts on beer and hot chocolate, hotdog specials and free food for kids.

The Sox are offering the following:

  • Kids under 14 can eat free before the third inning, provided they go to specially designated concession stands to pick up their Fenway Frank, Goldfish, and carton of juice.
  • Around the park, buy one hot dog, get a second for free.
  • Hot chocolate will be sold for half-price.
  • Beer will be sold for $5 per 12-ounce cup, down from between $7.50-$8.50.

The ideas are great ones that they have borrowed from small market teams who also struggle to sell tickets, but Red Sox Nation needs and wants a winner.

No matter how much cheap beer the Beantown fanbase ingests, it’ll be hard to blind the team’s performance, so they better hope for a turnaround season, although a team featuring free agent pick-ups Shane Victorino, Jonny Gomes and Mike Napoli doesn’t sound like enough.

    7m cn là cụm từ mình thấy khá nhiều người nhắc tới khi lướt đọc các trao đổi về bóng đá trên mạng, đặc biệt trong các chủ đề liên quan đến việc theo dõi tỷ số trực tiếp và thống kê trận đấu. Vì tò mò nên mình cũng thử tìm hiểu xem các trang dạng này tổ chức nội dung ra sao. Cảm giác là khi các giải đấu được phân loại rõ ràng, dữ liệu cập nhật theo thời gian và các bảng thông tin hiển thị dễ theo dõi thì việc đọc lướt hay tìm trận mình quan tâm cũng khá thuận tiện; với mình chỉ cần bố cục gọn gàng và cách trình bày mạch lạc như vậy là đã đủ để nắm được những thông tin cơ bản trước khi theo dõi các trận bóng rồi.
