1. Sports Management
Much like any business, sports needs skilled managers to manage the team, make sure the team’s needs are met, that the players are following the rules, that the players are fit and healthy, that the owner is happy, the fans are happy, and the players are happy. Sports managers are the tippy-top of the sports industry but their job is the most stressful as well- everything rests with them.
Average Pay: Amateur sports- $50,000/Professional sports- $200,000 (at least)
2. Sports Marketing
Sports marketing is much like normal business marketing, but its focus is on marketing a specific franchise (team), or player. The sports marketer sells the team to manufacturers, sponsors, and fans.
Average Pay: $59,000 with room for more in commissions.
3. Sports Finance
Every sports team and player needs a good numbers person to keep the books, make sure the bills are paid, and make sure that they are making the money they should be. This is a type of sports management job.
Average Pay: $55,000
4. Sports Therapy
When a player gets hurt they need the skilled hands of a licensed sports physical therapist. They help players stretch, work the right muscle groups, and get back in the game quickly without lasting damage.
Average Pay: $59,000
5. Sports Agent
The sports agent is a sports management job that requires you to market your clients, the players. You get them the money they want, the contracts they want, the sponsors they want, and keep them happy.
Average Pay: Dependent on the income of the client- typically 4%
