    I wonder if understanding any of that actually makes you a better writer, or just a better talker. Speaking of confusing messes… I remember wrestling with a particularly convoluted bit of Javascript code a while back, trying to animate a character. The logic was an absolute nightmare, functions calling functions calling functions, like an impossible Geometry Dash level. Eventually, I just scrapped the whole thing and started over from scratch. Much saner approach.
