Job Description

The MARKET RESEARCHER INTERN will contribute to the daily market research activities on SportsNetworker.com. The responsibilities of your role will include researching MBA/MS Sports Programs, Blogs, Forums, Facebook Pages, Twitter Accounts, YouTube Channels, Google + Accounts, Pinterest Accounts, etc. Your role will be a critical part of our success and you’ll be clearly instructed on Market Research best practices and allowed to utilize your own creativity and organizational skills. Training is our primary objective as employers. Above all, you’ll be expected to have fun, and communicate openly with our team to ensure your success.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements

Since this is an Internship, and a Training Program as well, we don’t expect you to meet all of these Qualifications, Skills and Requirements.  Otherwise, you’d probably be a candidate for a salaried position with our company. However, the more of these qualifications you do have, the more likely your are to step right in and excel. BUT, fear not. We provide extensive and timely training for each task you will carry out. That’s the point after all. This is a training program as much as it is an internship. Sports Networker is looking for a passionate MARKET RESEARCHER INTERN with research, documenting and database management skills. We need someone with demonstrated experience working with Google Doc Spreadsheets and demonstrated knowledge of web browsing and social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google+ and Pinterest.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Command of English Language: Speak, Read and Write English Very Well
  2. Excellent General Computer Skills (Browsing, Social Networking, Searching, Typing Skills, etc.)
  3. Experience with Document Building: Word Processors, Spreadsheets, Databases, Google Docs, etc.
  4. Excellent Communication and Writing Skills
  5. Experience working with WordPress CMS (not required but valued)

Requirements:

  1. You should be a self starter, able to work independently and meet deadlines
  2. Willingness to join an exciting team with ambitions for growth in our company
  3. Willingness to learn quickly and to be trained on in-demand skills
  4. Tenacious enthusiasm for Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Market Research and Email Marketing
  5. Access to your own Computer and High Speed Internet

Responsibilities

The MARKET RESEARCHER INTERN role includes but is not limited to the following:

  1. Market Research
    • Documenting The OneBase of our Target Market to serve as the working basis of what to we will produce content around, where to distribute it and who to partner with. This is the act of conducting market research to document products, places, questions, answers, problems, solutions and people.
    • The MarketBase:
      • Products: Books, Movies, Services, Apps, Programs and Software
      • Places: Websites, Blogs, Forums, and Social Streams
    • The KnowledgeBase
      • Questions and Answers: FAQ
      • Problems and Solutions – The Roadmap
    • The FanBase
      • People: Bloggers, Advocates, Partners, Affiliates and Advertisers
  2. Report Creation
    • Create simple reports on research activities
    • Weekly reporting on valuable metrics and actionable insights for fan engagement and website growth
    • Assist in the development of a cutting edge online marketing strategy

Additional Information

THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIPthat requires a passion for the sports industry, tireless hustle, attention to details and the ability to meet all deadlines. We require a minimum commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The duration of the internship is  for 3 months (unpaid). Potential for an additional 3 month (paid) job extension that will be discussed with short-listed candidates. If you are a student looking for relevant internship experience as a part of your college degree, we will work with you and your college program to ensure that you receive proper credit.
