LeBron James Making Agent Change By Hiring Childhood Friend, Rich Paul

Lebron JamesLeBron James began his professional basketball career as a client of Aaron Goodwin. Goodwin negotiated LeBron’s on-court contract and off-court marketing deals, including the lucrative $90 million Nike contract signed immediately prior to the 2003 NBA Draft wherein LeBron was selected #1 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Two years later, LeBron decided to part ways with Goodwin and his company Goodwin Sports Management. He hired Leon Rose (of Creative Artists Agency [CAA]) to handle his playing contracts and formed a new marketing company along with his childhood friends Rich Paul, Maverick Carter, and Randy Mims. The company adopted the first letter of the first name of the four friends and has been known as LRMR ever since.

Tony Stewart Loses Office Depot As A Sponsor

Tony StewartOffice Depot does not plan to return as Tony Stewart’s sponsor for the 2013 NASCAR season. The company has admitted that it “will not be renewing as the primary sponsor of the No. 14 team,” so Stewart-Haas Racing is searching for alternatives.

Although Mobil 1 will remain with Stewart, it is not clear who else will sponsor the driver next season. Office Depot has sponsored Tony Stewart in the Sprint Cup Series since 2009.The company’s decision to stop being one of the primary sponsors for Stewart has been blamed on the economy and changing business needs.

With the the support of Boston-based Enterasys Networks, Gillette Stadium will become the 8th NFL stadium to offer Wi-Fi services during Patriots’ games and other events.

According to the Patriots, the upgrades in sports technology will be available for the team’s home-opener on Sept. 16 against the Arizona Cardinals.
