Martina Navratilova is an important retired Czech-American tennis player, coach and former world number one who earned 18 Grand Slam singles titles. In addition to her commentary on tennis, her Twitter stream is packed with her own political commentary and observations, a fascinating distraction for some of her fans. 

Serena Williams – @serenawilliams

Ranked number one five separate times, Serena Williams also holds four Olympic gold medals.
