All in all, I think Tiger's handlers did a great job by highlighting the public nature of his predicament and bring it back where it belongs. His squeaky clean image has taken a beating and he might have to sleep in the guest room for a while but there's no permanent public fallout. More importantly, he didn't lose a single sponsor. Unless one of his lady friends comes out with salacious emails, photos, voice/text messages or his wife decides to raise a public stink, this story has no legs...until someone comes out with a tell-all book to paint a more vivid picture of what we already know.

I'm not a big fan of lying to anyone, but in Tiger's case, he could have made something up to avoid the scrutiny he's facing now. How about something like: "My kid was sick, went out at 2:30am to get medicine, was exhausted from no sleep, and drove into a tree next to my house. Next time I'll make sure our medicine cabinet is fully stocked." If you are a public figure, and don't give a a public explanation for your bizarre behavior, the public will make assumptions and false accusations. Saying nothing speaks volumes if you are an athlebrity like Tiger Woods.

Regarding his indiscretions...it's always interesting how some people who have power, fame and money tend to get drunk on all of that and feel as though they can do whatever they want to without facing any consequences. I guess no one learned any lessons from Bill Clinton, David Letterman, or certain Governors.
