I have a solution in the works... (or at least I feel I have)
We have an application to replace the score sheet used at all games, not just the MLB level...its designed to drive 3D animation playback real-time to any web connected device...rather than MLB-09 video game depicting pure fantasy, we have an app that would drive those animations to depict actual plays...and with the ability to customize the avatars (characters within the video game) any player of any level could "put themselves inside the video game"....
using the app for a Little League game could result in a web-cast video game playback for any non-attending fan or friend to "see the game."
Getting access to value based content from anywhere now can include all those games you wanted to see but couldn't because they weren't deemed economically feasible to broadcast.

Katie and Bob, thanks for your comments!

Katie,

Thanks for pointing out the MLB Network's presence on Facebook. They're doing a decent job, although they tend to just post status updates that reflect what will be airing on their channel that day. Not saying that's a bad thing, I just don't know if their content and 15,000 fans change my opinion too much.

Bob,

I see your point and perhaps that is the MLB's reasoning as well. That being said, I can think of many uses for both Ustream and Tumblr that would not affect/interrupt the MLBAM.

MLB has MLB Advanced Media, which would be why they haven't utilized ustream or dailybooth

Interesting, but what about MLB Network. They do some pretty fun stuff and after only 1 year, have about 1/2 of the fans that the MLB Facebook has.
