Deandra, thanks for taking the time to ready my article and leave a comment. I've had a request to write a report card on the English Premier League, and now the WNBA! I might very well do both. Keep an eye out!

I think your grading was very fair. Overall, there's still a lot to be done...I love the content that they push through Facebook and Twitter, but it fails to actually use the sites for engaging with fans.

On an individual basis, each team clearly has a different strategy- some more into it than others (i.e. building their own online communities- Colts and Redskisn)...but like you said everyone is still learning.

Would love to see how you grade the WNBA...in my opinion, they will probably grade higher than both the NFL and NBA...can't wait to read.

Adam, at the team level, there is a ton of room for improvement. It's early in the game. Teams are still learning on how to use social media, and fans are still unaware of their presence. Those fan & follower numbers will rise!

Sam, I just took a look at the popularity of individual NFL teams on both Twitter and Facebook. There's definitely still a lot of untapped opportunity at the team level too, hopefully that will continue to improve.

I understand my grading is harsh. Feel free to challenge and argue, I am open to discussion! Thanks!
