Really, are you kidding me? After reading this I felt you were the same whinney kid you were at 9. First, like Barkley said so long ago Pro Athletes should NOT be the role model for a kids life. Less than 1% of all kids playing sports will end up like Nolan Ryan, Chad OchoCinco, or Kobe Bryant. Second, Athletes give more time than most business executives, politicians, or movie starts in the charitable work they do. When they aren't playing the kids game they are involved in charities and we can all thank Leigh Steinberg one of those supposed evil agents who required his athletes to start charities and give back to the community and all other agents followed. And finally the media is going to take anything they say and screw them with it. If a player is on the uptick they are going to ride his Jock, if they are on the slide on the field they are going to say she/he is wasting too much time in front of the computer blogging. SO in conclusion Barkley's comment still stands, parents be the role model for your kids, instead of having them read blogs about athletes, have them solving math problems, draw some art, play with chemistry sets, and go outside and play catch.

This is sadly true, but also leads one to believe that most athletes actually CARE about their fans.
